If you have not been taught in your heart that God’s nature is Holy, you will be taught He is a Holy God.
“I am thy redeemer the Holy One of Israel”. God as Holy could not overlook sin. In His Holiness and righteousness His Holy character was revealed towards sin and He had to bring penalty for sin.
Sin was
disobedience and contempt of the authority of God. It robbed God of His honour, as God and Lord and Creator. His glory had been dishonoured, and His character and integrity had to be upheld. Sin awakened his wrath towards sin itself. As a God of Justice and Righteousness, sin compelled Him as did His nature and character to curse and punish us.
God’s Holiness
demanded punishment for sin, we were guilty before God and guilt was a debt. Therefore God could demand we paid that debt. It was impossible then for us with sin and as a sinner to come into the presence of a Holy God as long as the debt was not discharged or the guilt expiated. God had to send His Son to reconcile us back to Himself. To cover and take away the guilt of sin and to be the penalty for sin to remove the guilt and the debt, so we could once again be in His presence as a sinner, and have His blood to cleanse us of our sins.
Both love and Holiness
are parts of God’s character. His love, which sent His only begotten Son and His Holiness, required judgment for our sin for evil. His Holy love and His Holy wrath were satisfied when Christ was cursed and crucified and died for our sins, iniquities and transgressions. His Holy love was unable to let us go, He could not give us up and forget He ever created us. He willed to redeem us. His Holy wrath and His Holiness could not surrender His demand for punishment of sin.
His integrity
and His character had to be upheld as a Holy God who could not look upon sin and who shunned evil. He would have been mocked and laughed at by the people, angels and the enemy if He had not of acted according to His character as a Holy God. “What sort of Holy God are you, you call yourself the High and Lofty One and The Holy One and overlook the sins of man and don’t correct/punish them for it”.
He would not
of kept any respect before the angels as a Holy God if He did not act. He then acted accordingly to His nature and character. The nature of a cat is to meow and lick itself to be clean nothing will ever change that. Same as God His nature is Holy and nothing will ever change that. Therefore, He needed to apply laws His Holy Law demanded satisfaction and something had to take place where sin has caused God to apply laws curse destroy and punish.

be dealt with so that a Holy God no longer could see it. It had to be blotted out before God. So God gave us a substitute named Jesus sin was punished and a life was taken for the penalty of sin and we the sinner became saved.
God’s Holiness
was glorified and His love for man was displayed in punishing sin for Jesus became sin for us. And His death gave us newness of life and restored us to come back into the presence of a Holy God with individual fellowship, not just a selected few that was to be given the Holy Spirit.
The Old Testament
laws of offering a clean beast were a substitute for man, for the penalty of sin was death. His sin was laid by confession on the head of the animal, which bore the punishment of death. The blood representing life, allowed the man to be free from guilt. The blood or life of the animal made reconciliation and covered the sinner and his sin, because it took his place and atoned for his sin.
This was a
shadow or a picture of real reconciliation. The Holy blood and body and life of Christ was necessary for the blotting out and covering of guilt and debt, nothing less than the blood of His Son could restore us to relationship and enable us to stand in the presence of a Holy God as a sinner.
For now the
blood is sprinkled on us perpetually. Then when we sin we confess our sin and He is just to forgive us our sin and cleanse us from all unrighteousness, and remember our sin no more when cleansed from all consequences after true repentance.
Now God no
longer punishes us with instant death outside of the gates of the city for any sins / transgressions or iniquities, for He punished and cursed Jesus at Calvary on the cross. The Law of Life in Christ Jesus provides the conviction to repent and the transgression and iniquity structures brought to death by His Spirit and any curses broken instantly, not just once a sacrificial year and suffering its effects until the visit to the temple for sacrifice.
Now He sees not
our sin or our sinfulness but the blood of Jesus and finished works of Calvary. His Son seated at His right hand with the scars in His hands and on His feet and seated on the mercy seat with the blood applied and the blood on the alter in heaven that is sufficient to deal with all the guilt of our sins / transgressions and iniquities and our sinfulness us being a sinner.
He now
just wants to love on us, be for our welfare and pour out His grace, pour out His power to learn and to walk in His ways, and offer second chance after second chance after second chance. He wills to still the effects of any curse and give us His grace by empowering us to die to sin and to add here, the sin structures of homosexuality by Him bringing that to death that it no longer has a stronghold in our hearts, in our flesh.
