I wrote the following a while ago when the same sex marriage was a heated debate and felt I should blog it to date.
"...I believe we can not voice out against homosexual marriage without being compasionate, understanding and gracious to those who desire recognition, equality and their rights as citizens in our nations.
I know personally that a large percentage of homosexuals suffer rejection and these wounds are deep and fragment and twist the human soul grievously. I also know some come from broken or dysfunctional families, have been molested or were / are victims of incest. Further with the absence or perceived absence of a father and or mother they look to fill this void for this love in the same sex.
My point is as an ex-homosexual my healing came from the unconditional love and acceptance of Jesus Christ and The Father through The person of The Holy Spirit of Christ Jesus; and who knew the lack of love and the false love that I was so enmeshed in yet I fully believed to have been in true love. When I was living as a homosexual I fully believed I was born that way and fully believed I should have been accepted that way but I did not know then that life and life's circumstances had caused a twisting to bring forth that way of sexual desire and a lifestyle in that way.
At the root of this brokenness is a search for true love and we all know that our adversary always counterfeits truth to outlive his/their kingdoms reign and will on the earth whilst they have such dominion; and they have been at work on us since the first life circumstance gave them opportunity to help mould us that way.
Regardless of whys and legal rights of the ways of the kingdom of darkness we as believers in Christ battle with wisdom, understanding, most of all it is His Love that changes and meets people in their brokenness and it is His Love that meets their great cry for spiritual wholeness and purpose and love.
Therefore let’s not forget that our defense of Kingdom Biblical traditional marriage should not bring forth a battle of anti-homosexual hatred for they are in need of Christ's and our acceptance and love and His healing, and to know the truth of what Love / love really is."
